I’m super happy and excited to share with all of you not only a great kid friendly recipe but also some of my childhood stories.
One of my favorites memories as a little girl is when I’m with my grandmother in the kitchen and she teaches me some of her most delicious recipes, In most of them, she used to use Cheerios.
This recipe, in particular, is an adaptation of something very similar that she used to make for us and I remember that especially on Dia del Niño, this dessert was and is my all time favorite.
We always found something to laugh about it and when all the family was together we celebrated the day with food, dessert, and music, what a wonderful memories.
Know as a mother I always try to pass on some of my recipes to my daughters, of course, my grandmother recipes too, but I also want for them to enjoy and created the most wonderful memories to share with their own families.
So, my clusters as I said before are an adaptation of my granny’s recipe, and my little one love to change the cereal every time we make it, sometimes we use Lucky Charms or Cocoa Puff and it turns in a different recipe every time.
If you want, you can add some nuts too and this super simple recipe will become a 5 or 6 recipes that you can make with your kiddos every time.
Sharing and creating is what a great Dia Del Niño is for me because I remember how I enjoy so much with my family, all the different ways we celebrate, all the food we eat and of course all the memories we preserve to this day. What a wonderful time it is indeed.
So join us to celebrate this day, go ahead make my recipe and let me know how you celebrate Dia Del Niño with your kids.

And of course to make a huge plate of food you need good quality products, and I have the best by my side, just as La Morena® and Knorr®, as many of you already know, these products bring the flavor of your food to another level. As always my go to place to find and buy my favorite products is Walmart and you must go to the Hispanic aisle, where you can find the products I’m using today in my recipe.
Because this time of the year is so busy, I make the recipe simple and easy to follow, with ingredients that we all have on hand, and of course other products that as I told you before you can find at your local Walmart.
And of course, this rice is just perfect not only for this special occasion but you can easily make it as an easy dinner for a large gathering on a different occasion.
My secret to the recipe? You ask, using Knorr® Chicken Flavor Bouillon Granulated Bouillon to make the broth for the rice and the sauce and to add a different kick to the sauce also, I added some La Morena® Chipotle Peppers in Adobo, I love how subtle the spicy flavor is in my sauce not overpowering thanks to the chipotle peppers.
My recipe is simple but big on flavor and you will find it so easy to make that I just want to read all the comments you’ll have for me at the end.

I want to share with all of you today a great recipe but also an especial celebration. As a latina, I feel the responsibility to share all my knowledge and roots with my daughters. I know most of the time we feel like in a competition of language but let me tell you, we are and we must teach our kids how important it is to speak in Spanish.
My grandmother used to say, los hijos son el reflejo de uno mismo, and let me tell you that is true. Every day I’m on top of my girls asking them to speak more and more Spanish.
I’m so proud to have this heritage and share all my abuelas recipes and of course, I’m so lucky that I can find lots of the same ingredients we have in Costa Rica here in San Diego. Walmart is a source for me to find all I need for my recipes, especially this month that we are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.
I must say, one pantry item that I love and I can’t live without is NESTLÉ® La Lechera Sweetened Condensed Milk; We use it in almost or all our recipes, we eat it with crackers or fresh bread and pour on top of our snow cones, we have to have it at all times, it is definitely part of our food culture.
And speaking of celebrations, did I mention that back home my family when it comes to food and gatherings is the best, we all make different traditional dishes and share with our neighbors and friends. Here in San Diego, I’m blessed to have fabulous friends to celebrate this important month and sometimes I rely in different dishes that I love and are not very latinoish but, we put our stamp on it. For example, I brought STOUFFER’S® Family Size Chicken Alfredoand because this is a complete meal, I recommend to take advantage of the Ibotta link which offers a $1.00 reimbursement. I just made to accompany this dish my abuelitas Ensalada de Repollo, Yum! what a delicious dinner we had.
And for dessert, we had so much, Arroz con leche, caramelos and because I love easy peasy no complications, I know everybody love cookies and ice cream It was easy OUTSHINE® FROZEN SNACKS and NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Refrigerated Cookie Dough, was an easy option, so fresh cookies and paletas it is.
Don’t get me wrong we are very proud of our culture and our food, but sometimes we need to make our life a little easy to also enjoy the party.
I know what are you thinking, what is my recipe? Ok just let me tell you that this recipe is my sisters go to dessert, she loves to make it and is so easy and so traditional that I want to share it with all of you. I’m sure that you are going to love how simple and easy it is, and how perfect it is for any family gathering. Remember we as latinos, are very humble people that love to laugh, eat and spend time with our families and friends, and we made delicious food with the most basic ingredients.
So tell me, what is your favorite latino food? How are you celebrating this month? And if you want more inspiration, check out the Flavorful Moment Pinterest Board
Mix water and strawberry jello until completely dissolved, add condensed milk and coconut milk. Hydrated the unflavored gelatin in the water, place in microwave for 20 seconds and add to the mix above.
Mix well, and place the mixture in ramekins, place in the fridge for 4 hours or over night.
Before serving, drizzle dulce de leche and sporkles to a fun and yummy decoration.

Yes easy, practical and summer special recipes for you to make.
If you ask me my staple veggies to have in hand, I would said, carrots, onions and potatoes, everybody love this veggies, you can make a sweet or savory recipe with this 3 vegetables and all the recipes taste delicious.
And that is why I made this biscuits, inspire by the sweetness of the carrots in a savory dish. This biscuits are not super sweet, you can easily smear some butter on then, soft, nutty and perfect to take with you and eat them on the go.

• 1 bottle of Riesling Gallo Wine
• 500 ml of lemon lime soda
• 2 lemons
• 4 cups of ice
• This is a very simple drink to make, just cut the lemons in slices, add to a pitcher with the ice, wine and the lemon lime soda, mix and let it cool for ½ hour, and is ready.
• I also recommend to cool the wine and the soda the day before for less ice and clean and better flavor.
• Or just make the drink the day before and let it sit in the fridge, this is even better to keep the delicious flavor of the wine.
