Mixed Fruit Drink #SundaySupper

This is a very fun and easy recipe to make, that you will find so many different ways to add other fruits to it. It is very delicious and refreshing, of course, the little ones are going to be all over this drink, you’ll see.

Let me tell you about this drink a little bit, we have so many kinds of fruits in Costa Rica and all and I really mean all the drinks we make are made with fresh fruit, and this is a very traditional one, which I change a bit just to make it more easy to carry to a picnic.

Of course, if you are not if you are not in the mood to go to the park for a picnic you can definitely do it in your backyard, and have your family enjoying a glass of this delicious drink and you never know maybe this is the beginning of a hold new tradition in your house too.

Don’t forget to add your own spin and to tell me what is your favorite fruit.

A #ElenaOfAvalor Party Premier with Dulce de Leche Flan and Fun #Ad #DiMeMedia

This is part of a sponsored collaboration with DiMeMedia and Disney Channel. However, all opinions expressed are my own.

#ElenaOfAvalor viewing party table

One of the things that I truly love about Elena Of Avalor is the way she helps and takes charge of every challenge that comes to her hands. We definitely love the way the series encourages everyone to be better and to work through any obstacle.

Us, in particular, see a lot of Elena in our oldest daughter, as a big sister she has a lot of responsibilities and her little sister wants to be just like her. We love the fact she is always helping and eager to be better and learn every day.

#ElenaOfAvalor Preparations

She is very proud of her heritage and when I talk to her about Princess Elena Of Avalor she was absolutely happy. You need to understand my eleven-year-old is very emotional and we encourage her every day to be herself and not let anyone put her down.

Her name is Sofia and she is just the most wonderful girl ever. As we were putting our party together she was there helping me decorate the cake, playing with our guests and her little sister, making all kinds of decorations, getting ready for this viewing party was a family teamwork all the way.

#ElenaOfAvalor makign decorations

One of her favorites desserts was the Dulce de Leche flan. We made lots of food for our guest like picadillo de papa, some agua de frutas, chocolate cake and the flan. Yummy food to keep everybody well feeds while commercials because we did not want it to miss any moment of the premier.

My daughters are my life and I want them to share memories, stories, and ideas to their children. Princess Elena Of Avalor teach us the most important principles in life family is first, you can always say sorry, be yourself and the most important is you promise something to keep it because the most important people in your life can end it up hurt because of that.

#ElenaOfAvalor healping friends

We see a lot of Elena like I said before in our daughter Sofia, and nothing makes me happy than have a Latina Princess to which my girls can identify their self, share and learn at the same time with their friend’s new adventures and ideas to make a better life and get #ReadytoRule the world.

Oh, you are wondering now about that yummy dessert right? Don’t you worry, I have you covered, here’s the recipe for the flan.
And don’t forget to follow Elena of Avalor’s latest royal adventures! Elena of Avalor airs on the Disney Channel on Fridays at 7:30pm ET/6:30 pm CT and 7:30 pm PT!

Orange Glace Donuts #FoodieExtravaganza

Orange Glace Donuts #FoodieExtravaganza

Ok, let me start by saying that I love donuts! Thank you, I needed that, I’m so happy to participate this month in the donut event for #FoodieExtravaganza and I’m sure you are too.

This is a great theme to have especially this month for me living in Southen California, the weather has been wonderful not too hot and perfect for baking, wich makes me so happy because I love to bake during the summer time. I know most of the donuts are fried but some people love to bake them and let me tell you those donuts are pretty delicious too.

Now let me talk about my donuts, I know that the title said orange glace, but, I decide also  to present them in a different way and add the orange zest to the dough, this addition will make the donuts tastier and with a delicious citrus flavor. I’m sure you will love the flavor and this is a great opportunity to have some fun in the kitchen with your kids and let them decorate and cover the donuts and those little fingers in gooey goodies.

Orange Glaze Donuts #chocolatetopping

July has arrived and that means it’s time for another #FoodieExtravaganza! Each month we take turns hosting and selecting a foodie holiday associated with that month. Somehow in all the planning July was overlooked so in a mad dash in the second half of June, Lauren of From Gate to Plate told us to celebrate the doughnut. If anyone is keeping score, National Doughnut Day is actually the first Friday in June, but none of us are complaining to be celebrating one of America’s favorite breakfast treats today. July is National Culinary Arts month so let’s just go with that. Also in July: Fried Chicken Day (today, the 6th), Blueberry Muffin Day (the 11th), and Junk Food Day (the 21st).

Easy Mini Snack Stadium #GameDayGlory #Ad #CollectiveBias

Are you exited for the Big Game? Well I’m, I can’t wait to watch the game with all my family and have some healthy competition in the house. For this occasion I’m sure we are going to have a few friends and I need to be prepared with a fun, easy, and of course great theme for the day.

#GameDayGlory ingredients

Ok, to be super prepare for the game and have a fun snack stadium as a theme, first we need to go to Walmart, to find some of my favorites products and easy snack time favorites like, SNICKERS® FUN SIZE®, Diet Pepsi™, TOSTITOS® Original Party Size and TOSTITOS® Medium Chunky Salsa, yummy!

snack-stadium

Well you know when it comes to snacking and party, better to be sure and have the right products on hand. Once you have all the products, and I bought a lot, because I know there’s always those “unexpected” friends that come at any time, and as a good host I need to be prepared.

I also love easy, simple and little things, and my impression of a snack stadium has that and more, my daughters help me choosing the materials and I have to be honest It look cute and easy to clean.

Is very simple, I use mini foil loaf pans for the sitting, and a squared foil pan to make the field, as a funny touch my daughter suggested that we use the mini Diet Pepsi™ for the lights.

snack-stadium-materials

I want to share with all of you that this was a difficult, super hard thing to build, nah, just kidding, it was very easy. We place the pans in position to make the sitting and the field, at first, I put one mini pan on top of the other but my oldest said that it did not look good, so we make 2 sittings of each side, and 1 on the front and back.

snack-stadium-assenbly-2

You can place the chips and the candy any where you like, but I think having a salty and sweet side works great. I use some guacamole and add-on the sides the TOSTITOS® Medium Chunky Salsa, it was Delicious! if you mix the two together. Have fun and involve the family with projects like this, if you need more ideas just click HERE

If you like my idea or want to share your favorite theme when it come to the big game. just leave me a comment below.

#alvinmovie #ad

What an amazing opportunity we had the other night my family and me, we were so lucky to be able to go to the Alvin and the Chipmunks: Live on Stage! And let me tell you it was so amazing, lots of fun, great souvenirs and of course amazing music, close to home, it was held on the City National Grove, on Anaheim, CA.

#alvinmovie #ad 3

This concert was such an amazing experience our girls dance a lot and we had the opportunity to get some pretty good seats, because who doesn’t love a good seat in a concert; but that is not all, we enjoy not only the music but also all the different cities we visit with Alvin and the Chipmunks, yes we had the opportunity of going to so many great places, of course fabulous music. Oh, forgot to mention that my daughter favorite part was to dance the shuffling, because we ran into somebody, that I just let you guess who…… All the concert was her favorite part!

#alvinmovie #ad 4

We were so happy it was definitely a great family night. This concert was only the beginning, because the super exiting news if you haven’t seen them already is the, on December 23rd we can enjoy the new family friendly movie, ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: THE ROAD CHIP, yes for all of you fans of the Chipmunks and the Chipettes the movie is almost out.

Not only is a great holiday movie, is fun, and fill with great adventure, all you can expect from Alvin, Theodore and Simon, as always they will make us laugh, dance, and get exited for was coming.

#alvinmovie #ad 2

And because I love you guys so much, and this concert has a great preview of the movie, yes I saw the preview first, but is all fine, because I have the preview right here just for you, and the only thing I want to heard from all of you is: How super exited are you for the movie and Who do you identify the most, Alvin, Simon or Theodore?

Me personally I’m a Simon, always worried, and telling people what to do or how to do thinks…

Sweet Merienda Moments DIY #FunSizeMerienda #ad

Sweet Merienda Moments DIY #FunSizeMerienda #CollectiveBias #ad

For those who are foreign to the Merienda term,  is a specific time of day where we shared with family some quality and use it to make it more educational and to connect with our kids and have some necessary dialogues enjoying a delicious merienda, coffee, tea, soda or other.
In the Latino culture this is very common, and it is a tradition that is passed from generation to generation.
For me, living in the United States, it has been even more important that my children learn and continue with these traditions.
In Costa Rica, we meet at 3 pm at the home of a family member, to eat, drink coffee and share with the family, is a way to have some conversations with our grandparents and Lear even more about what life was for them in the early years, it takes us about an hour or until the bread is finished.
In my house as my daughters do not drink coffee, I created a different way of sharing this moment of the day, which is to incorporate a craft they want to do.

In this case we made a DYI Merienda schedule for the back to school, and we incorporated this idea using Fun Size MARS Chocolates. Because everything is better with chocolate.

materials #FunSizeMerienda

This is the list of materials you need:

  • Markers
  • 2 Sheets of Construction paper (white)
  • Glue
  • 10 Mini Springs
  • Candy
  • Stickers

This is very simple, is a craft for the kids to use their imagination so let them be very creative. With the markers write the days of the week, do not include the weekend, divide each column, them add glue to place the springs in each column, and let them pick the candy to add to the schedule. They can use stickers just to place the first letter of the day of the week. Very important to add their name and if they want make some decorations.

Craft #FunSizeMerienda

What I love of this craft is the we spend a lot of time together and at the same time eat some chocolate, specially the Fun Size MARS Chocolates; These chocolates are perfect for any time of the day but special for a sweet merienda moment.
You can find MARS chocolates at your local Walmart  and to make it easy here are some pictures for you to know the aisle where is located.

#FunSizeMerienda #Ad #cbias

Our traditions and family moments are very important to us, and I want to know what are your traditions while the Merienda time, whats your favorite time of the day to have Merienda and what’s your favorite thing to do?
Leve me a comment I would love to hear from you.

We start our game very easy, first we count the aisle, then we read the list in the aisle and last we look for the toys with the picture I show to the girls, as a good VeggieTales always said, togethers is always easy and better to find the solution, so we play until we find the toys.
