Mixed Fruit Drink #SundaySupper

This is a very fun and easy recipe to make, that you will find so many different ways to add other fruits to it. It is very delicious and refreshing, of course, the little ones are going to be all over this drink, you’ll see.

Let me tell you about this drink a little bit, we have so many kinds of fruits in Costa Rica and all and I really mean all the drinks we make are made with fresh fruit, and this is a very traditional one, which I change a bit just to make it more easy to carry to a picnic.

Of course, if you are not if you are not in the mood to go to the park for a picnic you can definitely do it in your backyard, and have your family enjoying a glass of this delicious drink and you never know maybe this is the beginning of a hold new tradition in your house too.

Don’t forget to add your own spin and to tell me what is your favorite fruit.

And let me tell you here in San Diego the weather is starting to get warmer and warmer every day. So when I’m looking for a refreshing, healthy and delicious alternative snack I know that Outshine Bars are a great option.

So after school is very typical that we go to our local grocery store to buy some of the different flavors that Outshine Bars have and we love them all, my husband enjoys the yogurt bars and my girls are a big fan of the fruity flavors, my favorite is pineapple, but sometimes coconut just hit the spot.

Okay, here are a few recommendations for those afterschool afternoons.

1- Take advantage of the long afternoons. Bring your kids outside, and enjoy the wonderful weather. This will help them better to deal with homework and chores.

2- Have some Outshine Bars on hand. Because Fruit Bars are made with real fruit or fruit juice and No GMO ingredients.

3- Make it at leat once a week a special fun day. Choose a day of the week that you feel is great for a game, the pool, the park, snacks and of course laugh and happiness.

Honeydew Melon Parfait #farmfreshtotable #WeaveMade #ad

There are some weeks when is impossible for me to go to the farmers market for a number of reasons, and I love to buy fresh local fruit and veggies all the time, and completely miss the freshness when I can’t go. I recently came across this great service call Farm Fresh To You and totally change the way I bought our fruits and veggies. I love this service because they do all the leg work, you know by collecting the fresh fruits and veggies just for you and deliver it to your door; if you don’t think this is amazing well I don’t know what to tell you.#farmfreshtotable #WeaveMade #ad 2

It is even better they have all these different boxes for you to choose, only fruit, only veggies, or a mix of the two, the prices are great and the product it is really fresh, picking the best quality during the early morning and putting it on your door the same day. Choose your box size and delivery schedule. For each box, you can add items you want and remove those you don’t.

#farmfreshtotable #WeaveMade #ad

It is amazing how many different products came in my box, like, corn, cucumber, beets, greens, carrots, peaches; so many that we almost eat the entire box the same day. I used most of my veggies in different recipes for lunch and dinner, like salads, and the fruits, well my daughters completely eat them all, with the exception of the honeydew melon, that I save for this delicious parfait for breakfast.

I really love this service and I’m sure you are going to love it too, Click here to see if they deliver to your area and to make you more excited about this great service please use this promo code KATH7515 to save $15 in your first box.

#farmfreshtotable #WeaveMade #ad 3Eating local is super important, we need to support all those families the work really hard to produce quality fruits and veggies and Farm Fresh To You brings the season’s best mix of organic produce conveniently to your door by growing and partnering with farms in your area.

Gimme Jimmy’s Cookies #Freshness #Review

Thanks to Gimmee Jimmy’s Cookies for providing me with a tin of cookies for my review.  All opinions are 100% my own.

Gimme Jimmy's Cookies #Freshness #Review

I got a delicious tin of Gimmee Jimmy’s Cookies and let me tell you, this is one of the best cookies I have tried. The challenge for us, taste the freshness each day. So we need it to eat one each day to see how everything was going, my job is so hard :).

On day one, I just could not resist eating about 3 with my cup of coffee and my girls definitely enjoy them too. The only downfall I have is that some of the cookies were broken, but either way, we eat them all.

GJCookies #review

By day 4 the cookies were still fresh and delicious, one key element is to keep the cookies in the original tin, this will keep them with zero expose to any element that can make them soft.

By day 7 most of the cookies were gone, but the freshness was still there, I kept some for more time and let me tell you, the cookies were delicious, fresh and full of flavors.

I really want to encore you to buy and try Gimmee Jimmy’s Cookies. Check out their website for more information and here are their social channels.

Easy Orange Fudge #TheLeftoversClub

Easy Orange Fudge #TheLeftoversClub

This month for the #TheLeftoversClub I want it to send and make something different and change the theme a little, no cookies this month, so for my friend Faye Rodriguez I make delicious and super easy Orange Fudge.

Ok, this fudge is very different to any others you have tried, and is very traditional in my country, yes in Costa Rica we make all different kinds of fudge and is call Cajetas. We have so many different flavors like, coconut, peanuts, carrots, etc. But this orange fudge is so fresh and delicious, the flavor of the orange zest cuts the sweets of the sugar and you end up with the perfect dessert after a good lunch or dinner.

I just hope she likes it as much as we love it. And let me know how many pieces of this fudge will you eat.

Tortas De Atún (Tuna Fritters) #MeGustaConLeche #ad

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of the California Milk Processor Board. The opinions and text are all mine.

tortas de atun tomaleche

The other day I was starring at my fridge trying to find something to complement some tuna fritters leftovers from the other night, it came to my attention a gallon of cold milk, that was the moment I decided to drink my milk with tuna fritters, no wait, to eat my tuna fritters with a glass of milk.

And I know it sounds weird, but there is nothing more delicious in the world than a glass of cold milk, and I love warm milk too, specially when I can’t sleep, but when is hot outside, nothing is better than cold milk.

Definitely, it was the best decision ever, my tuna fritters taste super delicious with the milk, it was unbelievable, never since I started making this recipe image that milk was the secret complement to my fritters and with the combination of flavors in my mouth I couldn’t wait to try more and more different savory foods and see what new flavors I was missing.

tortas de atun

Because I was so surprise, that day I made the fritters, I will give you the recipe soon, and serve a glass of milk to my family and of course the dinner, everybody looked at me with a funny look, like saying that I was crazy or something, but I told them “Dare to try the foods you love with milk” and you will notice the difference immediately; Everybody was so surprise and happy and of course I was too.

I mean we love milk, we drink milk every single day, but to paired the milk with our favorite foods was a first time for all of us, specially my husband, he would never and I mean never dare to try something so savory and different with milk.

You can make Milk a tasty “must have” for every meal.“Yum! I had no idea Milk tasted so good with so many different kinds of foods! I wonder what else it’ll go
well with?”

Here are some videos you can enjoy, and see what else go well with milk.

And use the #MeGustaConLeche to share pictures of your favorite foods paired with milk.

HOMEMADE BREAD

There’s nothing better in the world than to come home to find on the table freshly bake bread.

For that reason I want to give you this recipe that has been in my family for years and I have enjoyed countless times.

INGREDIENTS

7 cups bread flour
1 tablespoon instant yeast
1 cup warm water
1 1 / 2 tablespoon sugar
1 cup milk
1 stick unsalted butter
4 eggs
1 tablespoon salt

DIRECTIONS

In a saucepan over medium heat put milk, salt and 1 tablespoon of sugar, when boiling add the butter and turn off the heat.
When the mixture is completely cool add the eggs and beat well. In a separate bowl place the water with the yeast, let stand for 5 minutes (the yeast is active when you see bubbles and foam are formed on the surface).
Add yeast to the bowl of a mixer with a hook attach.
At low speed add the egg mixture and allow it to incorporate good fence followed this adding the flour gradually until mixture forms a ball.
Remove the dough and knead for 10 minutes until uniform and smooth.
Place dough in a greased bowl and let rise for 1 hour (I recommend you do it within the oven off since this is an area that has an ideal temperature).
Once you remove it is grown, knead a bit and make small balls, place balls on a platter, let rise again for half an hour, bathe with melted butter.

Bake for 45 minutes at 325 degrees.
