Orange Glace Donuts #FoodieExtravaganza

Orange Glace Donuts #FoodieExtravaganza

Ok, let me start by saying that I love donuts! Thank you, I needed that, I’m so happy to participate this month in the donut event for #FoodieExtravaganza and I’m sure you are too.

This is a great theme to have especially this month for me living in Southen California, the weather has been wonderful not too hot and perfect for baking, wich makes me so happy because I love to bake during the summer time. I know most of the donuts are fried but some people love to bake them and let me tell you those donuts are pretty delicious too.

Now let me talk about my donuts, I know that the title said orange glace, but, I decide also  to present them in a different way and add the orange zest to the dough, this addition will make the donuts tastier and with a delicious citrus flavor. I’m sure you will love the flavor and this is a great opportunity to have some fun in the kitchen with your kids and let them decorate and cover the donuts and those little fingers in gooey goodies.

July has arrived and that means it’s time for another #FoodieExtravaganza! Each month we take turns hosting and selecting a foodie holiday associated with that month. Somehow in all the planning July was overlooked so in a mad dash in the second half of June, Lauren of From Gate to Plate told us to celebrate the doughnut. If anyone is keeping score, National Doughnut Day is actually the first Friday in June, but none of us are complaining to be celebrating one of America’s favorite breakfast treats today. July is National Culinary Arts month so let’s just go with that. Also in July: Fried Chicken Day (today, the 6th), Blueberry Muffin Day (the 11th), and Junk Food Day (the 21st).

Turkey Croquets with Mushroom Sauce #SundaySupper

I’m so honored to be a brand ambassador for Gallo Family Vineyards and of course be part of the amazing Sunday Supper family.

In this occasion I want to share with you a delicious appetizer idea to help give thanks on this Thanksgiving day.
This recipe is great to be pair with Pinot Noir and Pinot Grigio, this delicious and delicate wines are the perfect compliment for your Thanksgiving dinner. This are fantastic wines, specially when pair with poultry, sweet and with a delicate flavor.

One of the things I love the most in this season is the idea of sharing valuable time with my family and friends and I also enjoy having a delicious meal and a good wine. They are great for gift and even better when you add some extra love in the bag, nothing better than a good jar full of love.

In my house we are always prepare, I made my signature turkey croquets with mushroom sauce and my husband help me with keeping our guest happy, passing along the wine.

Turkey Croquets with Mushroom Sauce #SundaySupper 2

My personal favorite is the Pinot Grigio, it has a sweet kind of flavor and for me these style of wines are the best. I also like my wine cool and ready to serve, that is why we also keep a bucket with ice to keep the wine cool, refreshing and delicious, it doesn’t matter how cold it is outside, my wine has to be cool.
And I think most of the people think the same makes me very happy because when I share personal and important moment with my family I want to be with all my favorite things at once.

Giving thanks is very important, and you must do it all the time not only on a special day, you can thank you husband, wife or significant other for sharing their life with you. You can thank you kids for been so amazing and wonderful, and you can thank yourself, yes you are a very important person that makes a lot of things possible, and keep the balance in the family. All your hard work must be notice and you need to give you a big hug and thank you for all the wonderful thing you do.

You will love this easy recipe idea, great to make for all the festivities we have ahead, and is perfect to eat at room temperature, make them ahead, freeze and just heat up before your guest arrive, but do not forget to purchase Gallo Family Vineyards Pinot Noir and Pinot Grigio this will become your secret weapon this holiday season.
